Honouring a brilliant and inspiring young man who had left too soon... his spirit and the great spirit of his friends is still alive and kicking :)
I'm in the middle of watching Pride and as I was from three generations of miners I wanted to learn more about Mark I was saddened to hear that Mark had died in 87.
An amazing human being - Moved in everyway watching Pride tell some of his life story.
I don't sympathise with Mark's politics but I do sympsthise with humanity.
We were so inspired by the film Pride at the Bectu conference, that we thought we'd have a cake sale in Mark's honour at work on the day of the Pride march. What a campaigner -we are in awe! With love and solidarity all the folk at Red Bee.
Fight for your rights, equal what for sex or social position!. Capitalism:a little fat hetero white man! cicket!
Like many others I was moved by Mark's portrayal in Pride. An inspirational young man fighting for many great causes.
Raised by myself and colleagues of Pgl Marchants Hill at our Easter fund raiser.
Like many others I have come to Mark's brief life story through the movie Pride. It's a fine legacy.
Just watched Pride - showing people at their best in the face of prejudice and adversity - inspiring.
It is an honour to also be called Mark.
Watched Pride last night & 'All Out! Dancing in Dulais' on YouTube today. Will be thinking of Mark for a long time
Just finished watching Pride.

Mark is still an inspiration. Love the portrayal of him in "Pride".
An inspiring story and person that has changed peoples lives in such a positive way that will last forever.
RIP Mark, you're gone but not forgotten. Your legacy lives on. Thanks for the inspiration you were and are.
Rest in Peace, Mark. You're sorely missed, but your legacy lives on in the hearts and actions of the LGBTQIA+ community who will follow your lead and fight for equality for all humans.
You did so much during your life to campaign for LGBT rights and Social Justice 28 years later you are still remembered fondly by so many for the work you did in these areas
For a Gay, a Communist, a real Hero

I recently saw the movie "Pride " in the United States. Mark Ashton was a visionary and courageous young man, who understood the need to support and. fight for other disenfranchised groups. What an inspiration, and what a loss to the world.
Thank you Mark. Your inspiration lives on.
